About SNTR

The Society of Natural Therapists and Researchers Incorporated (SNTR Inc.) was founded in response to the legislation known as Therapeutic Goods Administration Act 1990 (Australian Federal Government herein after noted as The Act). Originally it was developed by natural therapists including Naturopaths, Herbalists and Chinese Medicine Practitioners and thus allowed these groups access to restricted advertising and medicines controlled under The Act. Now and moving forward SNTR Inc. represents many diverse natural therapy practitioners in areas relating to The Act and those recognized outside The Act’s influence. Also, we represent our members standing and rights to the Australian Health Insurance Industry members through Private Health Care Australia (PHA).

We do this by liaising between health funds and SNTR practitioners, providing members qualifications and other relevant information to ensure health funds issue provider numbers for our members who still are eligible for them so that they may practice and give their patients the privilege of obtaining health fund rebates on our members’ professional services

SNTR Inc. promotes the professional conduct of our members and reinforces the doctrine of no harm to our members’ patients and the use of natural ingredients and bodywork to alleviate ill health and injury and to provide preventative natural medicine in opposition to the use of invasive surgery and potentially harmful drugs. Our members include practitioners that are Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) such as Chinese Medicine practitioners, dieticians registered under the Accredited Practicing Dietician Australia board and self regulated member practitioners such as Naturopaths, Bowen Therapists, Remedial Massage Therapists and many other natural therapy practitioners. We welcome and will support new members who meet our standards of education and professionalism.
